Escapee Parks        (updated 12/20/2005)

Subject: Re: Escapees Membership ( 12-2005)

Yes Escapees has two rallies called Escapades. One in the Spring on the West Coast and one in the Fall somewhere back East.

They rallies are especially good for newbies since there are many seminars on all types of topics RV related.  Fun entertainment each  night and good fellowship. They also have regional and chapter gathering.

There are many Birds of a Feather groups and there seems to be one for every interest.  Fran and I enjoy the Woodcarver BOF which has a gathering once a year.  Last year we had over 75 carvers and 6 instructors.   Great fun.

There are a ton of local clubs that have rallies every month. Any SKP can attend the monthly mag. gives times and dates.
I am a member of the "Computer Birds of a Feather" (BOF) group and have gotten some valuable information on it. Some of the members are very knowledgeable about hardware and software

All Escapee parks offer low cost boondock parking at their RV parks (most for members only) and many, many people take advantage of them. They are usually free for one night and $2.50 a night after that. People actually
drive past Wal-Marts to use them. We also found one in
Canada that allowed us to park in a weedy field for $4.00. It wasn't level but we were glad to find a place that we could park for the night without hookups that we didn't
need and a high price to go with it. They even allowed us to use their Laundromat which of course we paid for. Obviously the park in
Canada didn't put any money into their weedy field to level it or cut the weeds but they did get some money out of it and we had a secure place where we were welcome and we could put our slides out.
