Burns    FS Campgrounds near Burns, Oregon

We just spent a week dry camping at a beautiful under-utilized campground 19 miles north of Burns, Oregon. The
Joaquin Miller campground has about 30 sites, and we could fit our 40' MH and toad in about half a dozen of them. There were never more than two other campers in the campground the week we were there. It was easy to get a site in which we could see nobody else, just trees. The fee is $5.00/night. There are two dry wells with a sign "Dump waste water here." We dumped our gray water in those a bucketful at a time. About two miles closer to town is Idlewild campground. It has about 20 or 30 sites. We saw about half a dozen we could fit in. There is a host there. It's $7.50/night. There is no water or hookups at either campground. Although Joaquin Miller had a pump, we couldn't get any water out of it.

Newport or Depoe Bay, OR

Check out Beverly Beach State Park. I have a Alpenlite with slides. It is suppose to be # 2 in the state system.

Portland

Just off I-84, a little east of Pendleton there is the Wildhorse Casnio with a very large lot that has RV parking for wishing to boondock. They also have a RV Campground for a fee.

MISC:

In southern Washington we spent two days in
Bay Center KOA, a truly beautiful place full of crabs, clams and
millions of Oysters; we then were on to RV resort at Cannon Beach (a
community owned park) http://www.cbrvresort.com/

where we again spent two days (tons of stuff to
see in Cannon Beach); then onto Wallport KOA which was also a great
beautiful KOA where we again spent two days; then onto Brandon/Port
Orchard KOA which almost is the most beautiful place, the sites are
in the local redwood forest; wow, what a fantastic area of
Oregon; then today we continued to head south to Eureka KOA where we
will do an overnighter and then head inland to Redding. the Eureka KOA
should be arrested for false advertisement; their pictures and written
report make it sound like the sites are in the middle of the national
redwood forest.. bullshit ... it's just an open field with a little
(very little) grass between sites ... NO TREES except some 4 or 5 ft
ones that have been planted recently ... the grounds leave a lot to be
desired; they look like they need a good raking, clean-up, pick-up; it
just looks like it has been abused a lot ... but they do have cable
and wi-fi which is good and since it just an overnighter
