Convict Lake (California)

  I believe it is a National Forest Park but
maybe State.  Great view of the east side of the Sierra Mtns., a lake hidden
from view until you get
to the top of a three mile drive.  Mammoth Lakes is
a few miles north.  Hot tubs in the wild east of Hwy 395 on
Los Angeles Dept
of Water & Power land that beckon day and  night.

Colorado

Boulder :::::::::::;

Subject: Re: Boodocking in Boulder?  Try the Fairgrounds in Longmont--that might be the Boulder County
Fairgrounds.   Try a small campground in Lyons--about 15 miles from Boulder--it is just
past Lyons on the way to Estes Park.
There is
Golden Gate or Golden Canyon State Park with Elect near  Nederland. It is a very nice campground with dump and water, but not a sites. There are quite a number of sites for big rigs. Highway 119 goes
from Boulder to Nederland.
………………………………………………………………………………

Durango:::::::::::

The Cottonwood RV park in Durango is walking distance to the train and
downtown, and is $37 per night. It has showers and restroom, and mud when
it rains. Not recommended unless you are going to be there for a short
time.  There is also a dump station in the park about 3 miles North of the Walmart, and potable water at the
Cenex station just South of the Walmart.

Ridgeway State Park

Location: Ridgeway, Colorado

Review:

We noticed how few, if any, Colorado entries there are, so we add this one. A four hour drive southwest from Denver, Ridgeway is ideally locatednear the Uncompagre Range of the San Juan Mountains and a short drive to neighboring Telluride to the southwest and Montrose to the north. Ouray and the Million Dollar Highway are a few miles directly south. We often head into Telluride (30-40 min), hop the town gondola (free) with our dog Hertz (there are designated "Pet Cars!"), walk the streets and the river run, and have an outdoor lunch.

There are several camping areas within Ridgeway, but Elk Ridge is our favorite: clean, paved, and partially wooded, with electric hookup sites. Showers, flush toilets. It towers a couple of hundred yards above the reservoir, with majestic views of the Uncompagre. There is a swim beach and marina a half mile away. Fishing for rainbows is excellent on or offshore. Several trails ribbon throughout the park.

If you get stay and enjoy it, please let us know.

DELAWARE

Rehoboth Beach

 PARK REFUND: FIVE DAYS BEFORE OUR PLANNED

week-long camping vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the unthinkable happened. A very large limb from a giant oak tree in our yard fell directly onto our new Sunline travel trailer and our 2004 F-250 tow vehicle. It completely destroyed the RV and did more than $9,000 in damage to the truck. Needless to say, our vacation dreams were shattered.  We had reserved sites at Camp Hatteras campground in Waves, North Carolina, and at 3 Seasons Camping Resort in Delaware. Both campgrounds have written cancellation policies that require more than five days' notice. We called each resort and explained our sad situation.  The people at both campgrounds were extremely sympathetic and quickly refunded our deposits. They wished us well, and asked that we come see them when we could. We definitely will, and we want to thank Connie at Camp Hatteras and the staff at 3 Seasons.  BART & LINDA TAYLOR  Catonsville, Maryland

MAINE:::::::

Calais

On our way back to the states we stayed at a wonderful campground just a few miles over the border from the Calais ME entrance to New Brunswick. It is in St Andrews by the Sea on road 127. It is on a point and we were right on the water. It is run by the Kiwanis Club and has good laundry and propane - no pool and WIFI for a fee. Their
website is http://www.kok.ca/. Nice little town with things to see and do. Had we known we would have stopped for a day or two on the way into
New Brunswick.

Lubec

From: "jmastoras" <jmastoras@a  Subject: Back From Maine
Well I've just returned to
Texas from spending the summer in Maine. Lubec, Maine to be exact. The campground was great and was the only one around that had elec/water/sewer not to mention all the raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. It also was sure nice to miss out on the hot Texas summer.

Mid-Coast, Maine

Date: Mon, 08 Aug 2005 17:14:35 -0000 From: "fcloutier" Subject: Mid-Coast, Maine

If you are fan of the
Maine coast in the summer, check out the "Moorings" oceanfront RV resort (www.mooringscamp.com). It is on the water with a tiered terrain so that every site has an ocean view. It's small (40 sites), OK for big rigs, and has been run by a young couple for four years who put a lot of effort into their campground. Being a small site with little of the "one night stand" market, there is a great sense of community with Happy Hour on Friday (you bring an appetizer and they provide local beer and wine) and a lobster boil with all the fixin's on Saturday...1 1/4# lobster, steamers, corn, and blueberry pie for $25. There is a MWF "honey wagon" in lieu of a sewer hookup. There are some 50A pull-thrus, 30A is typical. I think
the monthly rate for two is $960. WiFi is free, but the signal is weak  for the shoreline sites.

Quantico:::

From: "oldgrammycracker" Subject: New to this group Hi...I got a link to this group on another camping group.   My husband and I have a travel trailer and love to go on jaunts.   We also go to Marylands eastern shore a bit and usually camp in Quantico MD at Roaring Point or Sandy Hill campgrounds.

MISSOURI

Anderson/Joplin:

One of Missouri's best kept secrets is Indian Summer RV Park in Anderson, a Good Sam Park about 30 miles south of Joplin. It's off the beaten path, but if you like dense woods, a crystal-clear creek and friendly owners, it's worth the trip.

GREENVILLE, MO

Greenville COE Campground
US Highway 67, 2 miles south of Greenville, MO
GPS Coordinates:  37.6292, 90.27533
$16.00 per night   Campground Review:  Like most Corps of Engineer (COE) campgrounds, this one is very nice with over 100 sites nicely spaced from each other.  The campground directory indicates there are two pull-thru sites but we only found one.  Situated along the banks of
Lake Wappapello and the St. Francis River, the interior roads are paved and well maintained.  The front section of the campground is mostly wooded while the back area is mostly open.  There are several buddy campsites;two campsites placed side-by-side for use by families or friends in two different campers.  I've never seen this in any other campground but it is a great idea. (Review by Rich and Donna, MH) Photos at http://www.geocities.com/rk911/greenville.html

POPLAR BLUFF, MO

Camelot RV Park
US Highway 60/67, 2 miles north of Poplar Bluff MO
GPS Coordinates:  36.48530, 90.27971
$23.00 per night (winter rate)

Campground Review:  Roughly 70 gravel sites, some of them very large for the biggest rigs.  All sites are full hook-up including no-extra-charge cable TV.  Most sites are wooded.  Over-the-air TV is limited to 12 (CBS) and 15 (ABC).  Electric is 20/30/50 amps and all sites are very level.  Wi-Fi is free for the first two nights only.  There are daily, weekly and monthly rates for both camping and wi-fi.  The park is neat, clean and the owners are very nice and friendly.   We received the winter rate because the shower rooms were not yet open.

The park is located 2-miles north of Poplar Bluff , the county seat of Butler County, roughly 3 hours south of St. LouisPoplar Bluff has a population of roughly 17,000 persons with that same number of residents in the county.

Sedalia:  State Fair Grounds (Sedalia Mo $13.00 w/FHU)

MONTANA

Blue Earth

We are in Blue Earth, MN at the fairgrounds. Its a 2 day free site with additional days at $5.00. Its a bit confusing tho, only two water bibs and one electrical box, 2 - 30amp  plugs, at the 8 sewer pipes. More electrical around the area but no other hookups. Still, 2 days free is still "free". And a dump station and water free if passing by.
